25/02/2001 - Outlook and hyperlinks

You can use hyperlinks in Outlook to point to files on a network, as well as to pages on the internet. In Outlook help several different protocols are listed which allow you to insert different hyperlinks.

file:// followed by a network resource will provide a link to a file or a folder. It is best to use the UNC path to the network resource as all users may not have the same drives mapped as you have.

ftp:// followed by a link will take the user straight to a file download.
